It's an 8 1/2 minute, high-quality, very well-produced video about "Bamboo Revolution", and their efforts with Dain Sansome in bringing Moso transplants from Avery Island, LA to Oregon in the hopes of establishing a bamboo timber industry in Oregon. Production quality surpasses that of most shows seen on HGTV -- I wish it were a 30-minute video. :D

Excellent video -- thanks for posting!

One thing that I was wondering about... Dain says in the video that almost all of the moso that's growing in the PNW is from seed -- some plants are 20+ years old and starting to get big, but still from seed.

Can that be right? Maybe he means "from seed or small divisions", the end result being a plant that takes a long time to reach timber size.

I also wonder how long the big (30'+) single culm divisions will take to size up again. I want to see the video that shows their first shooting season -- which I guess was a couple of months ago, right?

Interesting website re moso (and other bamboo) Http://www.oprins.com/bamboonetwork/pub ... s_0110.pdf
Note the importance of rainfall. PNW gets rain up the whazoo. Big download. Not sure how to limit website info to moso. Well worth the time if you have the time/effort. Rgds
