Couple weeks ago I read in the local paper that a nearby locksmith company had been broken into. I did a doubletake at the irony. Gotta wonder if it was an inside job.

That is kind of comical and fishy at the same time. Unless they broke the door off the hinges or something it should be almost impossible to get into a locksmith's shop, unless he is an idiot. A locksmith will always go with a commercial type lock for several reasons. 1) There are more pins in a commercial lock making it that much harder for them to line up properly if picked. 2) The springs in the lock are very sturdy, and give very little making the chances of them lining up, without locking up alot harder.
The other reason why it seems fishy is you can alter the pins in the lock themselves to even make it harder to pick open, and any smart owner would make sure to do this. Not to mention all of the other things that can be done like changing the door's frame to steel. A locksmith's shop should be one of the hardest to break into, unless the owner is either very cheap, a fool, or a combination of both.

The company is one of the longest-standing and most reputable in our county. My family used them for years and their work always was outstanding. That's why I was surprised.

Heh heh. Their site has an "Ask the Locksmith" page where you can send them questions. Wouldn't it be evil if we wrote and asked how they managed to get broken into?

Well I was on the managerial track at the local Winn Dixie grocery and about 15 years ago I decided I really do not like people and prefered animals, so I went to school to become a pet grooming professional.
Opened a shop and have loved going to work ever since
I am also my husband's helper/accountant/ secretary for his business. In my next career (retirement) I think I will have enough boo that maybe I will open "Serenity Zone" nursery

I am currently still working in the grocery store. It looks as though I will be starting at the nursery soon. I can't wait it will be good to be around a bunch of plant addicts like myself.

Began career as a COMMO guy in the Army, finished Advance school just in time to go to Panama and run secure communications on Ft. Clayton while the 2/75th Rangers and 82nd Airborne took Noriega out for good. Decided USASOC / Special Ops was a nice change of pace
Qualified to attend the selection course (Q course) Took classes on and off through my 10+ year career... Most 10 year students they call Doctors! lol Me not the case... took 10 years to complete my Bachelors. Left the Army at the 10 year mark after several bad landings. I dirt darted too many times and the back wasnt healing up as well as before. Left the Army Aug 99... Using my Comp Sci now with a small computer company... dev engineer for Linux platforms now. Not liking it as much as falling out of planes...but better than Army pay and I dont have to re-quaint myself with the family every 10 months... not fun at all. Still the newbie in the Boo department but learning
Take care

Well not for good. I read that Manuel is getting out of prison this year and wants to go back to Panama to fight his Panama conviction. Another one of our long list of poor choices of allies gone bad.CJ_IS_HERE wrote:...snip... took Noriega out for good...snip...
I heard he does have a lucky bamboo in his prison cell. Could be just a vicious rumor spread by "real bamboo" lovers.
Being from Panama, he could be a bamboo enthusiast.

Hmmm Now that you mention it... I believe I recall seeing several nice clumper types outside his Comendancia(sp?). I'll have to go back through my books on the invasion...several nice pics in there.
Any nice clumpers needing new home keep me in mind.
Always looking to liberate a Boo or 2 :0 or 3 Hahahah
Thanks
Dont be surprised if the US comes to the rescue once again when the Canal zone is back up on the auction block.

I am an operational risk analyst for a super regional bank.
Before that I worked in the restaurant industry for a total of 9 years as a bus boy, then waiter then bartender. Before that I had a lawn care business for 5 years with about 20 customers. I also had a couple of internships in college and for 3 years in college I had a part-time job, a full-time job and was taking on average of 15 credit hours per quarter.
Despite all that work I still owe a crapload on my student loans.
