I just wanted to thank everyone here, especially the ones who have really helped me in learning about bamboo, and for taking the time. I had a love for bamboo for quite a while, but I never knew others shared that passion. So I was pleased to find a site that had a forum where I could learn about this great plant. Although I don't grow the runners, I have learned a lot about them as well, and that could not have been done without every ones input. So I just wanted you all to know its appreciated. Thank you.
Aaron

RE: My appreciation
Hi Aaron,
We are all learning about bamboo. One of the things I like about this site is we all respect each other. I am sure we get things wrong from time to time. I know there is so much more I have to learn. I doubt I will ever know exactly what I have in terms of ID. More and more... that is ok.
As long as we are all willing to share and learn from each other, we all win. Newbies are particularly important because they help us reexamine what we think we know. Folks like Roy are important because of the years of experience he has. Each of us bring some learning to the table. We don't all grow bamboo in the same climate and soil conditions.
I am having a blast with bamboo because I was initially told "bamboo won't grow down there because of the soil, alkalinity, and salts".
Anyway, thanks for all the friendships. Thanks for your input as well Aaron.
