Bamboo...Please note... This plant is seriously addictive and you may lose interest in other, less rewarding plants!

Beautiful garden Mark! Your Ph. praecox viridisulcata is looking very healthy. The clone I have is blooming sporadically and is looking poorly and not expected to survive. Too bad as it is a beautiful plant. Is the 2nd to last photo of Ph. aureosulcata aureocaulis; it is a fantastic looking grove.

Second batch...

Weathers gone right downhill here now, real windy so everything's flapping about to much to get good pics

Hi David- Nice one, it's a shame about the flowering on PV but some of the plants here are doing that as well, haven't heard of any actually dieing though-Gaz Rodgers has one here thats flowers on the older culms. Still growing well from what I gather but probably slowed down a tad

Yep, spot on with the AA in the pic- nothing up yet on that one but hoping for a good turn out again  Not a good pic though which is a shame, it's normally easy to get a good one from that plant but it didn't want to play ball today. I thought about sneaking in a old one from last summer but though that'll be cheating...

Thanks all  - now for the really hard bit  , trying to photograph the Montain bamboos, easy if you want to get close up but try a landscape shot and they just come out looking crap. Gonna have to work a little harder I guess

Hi- well spotted  It didn't look good for quite a few years but now with some height it's really developed into a nice looking plant, in fact turning out to be one of fav's. The culms are the darkest shade of purple when new and age to an almost pure black.

Thanks for the pics Mark , everything coming along then.
Looks like the Chimonobambusa quadrangularis f.purpureicuima is not available here in the US ?
Be interesting to know which other Bamboos are not available here.
As I said in the other post I'll try to get over next year unless plans change.
Later
Steve
